Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: - Revise some words and phrases about What people do at a festival: make banh chung, decorate the house, watch firework display. - Ask and answer question about What do you do at Tet? I - Express Sts’ concern about What people do at a festival. II.Teaching Aids: CD player. III. Stage: 1. Warm up: Game : Slap the board. - Oral comments - Praise and share 2. New lesson. Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. + Discover the picture: *Q-A -How many people are there in the picture? - Who are they? - Where are they? + Listen to the recording a few times ( 3 times) + Listen and repeat line by line. + Say the words in each bubble Activity 2: Point and say.10ms Focus on the structure, pre-teach vocabulary * Modelling: What do you do at Tet? II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette, recording 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedure: A. Warm-up: Sing a song. Praise and share B. New lesson: Activity 1: Listen and repeat - T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat once or twice. - Have Ss repeat in chorus or in pairs if necessary. Practice pronouncing. - Asks SS to find the sounds. * Take note: Which student can’t pronounce correctly and help them to correct their mistake. Activity 2: Listen and write. Others listen and comment. Answers: 1- Tet, 2- flowers, 3- their house/ banh chung, 4- the firework display, Oral comment: - St’s can tick correctly . - St read correctly the sentences . 5. Write about your Tet. - T introduces Tet - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary - Have Ss write about yourselves - Call on some Ss to report their writing. Others listen and comment. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette, recording 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures A.Warm up: Play game: slap the board: Oral comment ( praise and share) B.New lesson 1.
