  1. GRADE 4 WEEK 10 ( From 29 / 10 to 2 / 11 / 2018) Period 37 October 29th ,2018 (4A,4B) UNIT 6: WHERE’S YOUR SCHOOL? LESSON 1 (Part 3-4-5) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about where a school is. Where’s your school? It’s in - listen for specific information. - Develop listening ,speaking and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to review the way to ask and answer questions about where a school is. Activity 1. Listen and tick. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 3 on Page 41. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the different address in the pictures in this task. - Explain the way to do the task. - Play the tape three times and let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. *Key: 1. c 2. a 3. c Activity 2. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 4 on page 41. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write sentences about where a school is. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss work in pairs to do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Let’s sing. - Have Ss look at the picture in part 5 on page 41 and ask some eliciting questions. - Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the song on the board and ask Ss to look at it. (Show the song on the slide) - Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song. - Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the song. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. - Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole song. - Call on some ss to sing the song in front of the class. Lesson 2(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about what class someone is in. - - What class are you in? I’m in class - What class is he/she in? He’s/ She’s in class - Develop listening ,speaking and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures 2
  3. GRADE 4 Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to play the game “Matching” to help them review the way to ask and answer questions about where a school is. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 42 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Discover the pictures: + How many people are there? + Where are they? + Who is this? - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 2 groups, one group repeats Phong’s part and another one repeats Hoa’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. Activity 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 42. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn. - Present the way to ask and answer questions about what class someone is in. - What class are you in? I’m in class - What class is he/she in? He’s/ She’s in class - Do the task with one student as an example. E.g: T: What class are you in? Hoa: I’m in class 4B. T: - What class is she in? Duc: She’s in class 4B - Ask Ss to work in pairs, one student ask and another one answer questions about what class someone is in by pointing the given pictures. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. Assessment: SS’assessment: 3

Activity 3. Let’s talk. - Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to ask and answer questions about what class someone is in. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Invite other groups to give feedback. - Check and give feedback. Ex: S1. What’s the name of your school? S2. Quang Van N1 Primary school. S1. Where is it? S2. It’s in Quang Van village. S1. What class are you in? S2. I’m in class 4B. Lesson 2(Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about what class someone is in. - listen for specific information to number the picture - Develop listening ,speaking , writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greeting. * QA. Call a few pairs to the front of class to ask and answer the question. S1. What’s the name of your school? S2. Quang Van N1 Primary school. S1. Where is it? 4

Listen and number. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 43. - Help Ss to distinguish the address in the pictures and guess the order of the pictures. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and number) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and number. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. Activity 2. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 43. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to ask and answer questions about where a school is and what class someone is in. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss work in pairs to do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Lesson 3(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: 5

GRADE 4 - pronounce correctly and distinguish the sound of the letters “sch”, the sound of the letters “sk” and the sound of the letters “str”. - Develop listening ,speaking , writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greeting. - Let Ss to play the game “Noughts and Crosses” to help them review the sentence patterns they have learnt. Activity 1. Listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 44 and look at the letters “sch”, “sk” and “str”. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the way to pronounce correctly the sound of letters “sch”, the sound of the letters “sk” and the sound of the letters “str”. - Stick the cards of the words with the letters on the board and ask Ss to look at the words on them. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and practice pronouncing the focused sounds. (in isolation and in words) - Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat the words and sentences in chorus three times. - Call on some Ss to repeat the words and sentences in front of the class. Activity 2. Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud. - Have Ss look at the given sentences in part 2 on page 44. - Help Ss distinguish the given words and the way to do the task by asking some eliciting questions. - Let Ss listen to the tape and do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answer. - Check the answers with the whole class. - Invite some Ss to read aloud the completed sentences. - Listen and give feedback. T’assessment: Go around and Observe if the students can do exactly. Activity 3. Let’s chant. - Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 44 and ask some eliciting questions. 6

GRADE 4 - Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the chant on the board and ask Ss to look at it. - Tell Ss that they are going to chant. - Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the chant. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. - Let Ss listen the recording and do the whole chant. - Call on some ss to do the chant in front of the class. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary . - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly - Ss’s chant: you chant beautifully/well/wonderfully ___ 7
