  1. GRADE 4 WEEK 9 ( From 22 / 10 to 26 / 10 / 2018) SHORT STORY: Cat and Mouse 1 I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - tell a story about cat and mouse. - Develop listening ,speaking ,writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: Sing a song Can you swim? Activity 1 . Read and listen to the story Discover the pictures + How many people are there in this picture? + Who is this? + What is their name? - - Listen to the tape and read after the tape - Read individually some times - Role play with classmates - Change the pairs (close/open) - Role play in groups - Listen and comment about the voices and feeling Activity 2. Complete the conversation. - Have Ss look at part 2 on page 39. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss work in pairs to do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Activity 3. Work in group of 3. Read the conversation. Then act it out with your own names. 1
  2. GRADE 4 - Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 39 and ask some eliciting questions. - Ask Ss work in groups of 3 to practice reading the conversation fluently. Then they act the conversation oit with their own names. - Invite some groups to perform infront of the class. - Observe and give feedback. Assessment: SS’assessment: - You listen and pay attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) Activity 4. Look, listen and repeat. Discover the pictures + How many people are there in this picture? + Who is this? + What is their name? - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 40 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 3 groups, one group repeats Peter’s part, one repeats Phong’s part and other one repeats Jack’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 40. - Present the new words by using different techniques + street: phố, đường phố + road: đường + village: làng, xã + district: quận, huyện + school: trường học - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to ask and answer questions about where a school is. Where’s your school? It’s in Ngyen Du street. - Do the task with one student as an example. E.g: Teacher: Where’s your school? Huyen: It’s in Quang Van village. - Ask Ss to work in pairs, one student ask and another one answer questions about where a school is by pointing the given pictures. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. 8
