- GRADE 4 WEEK 33 ( From 22 / 4 to 26/ 4 / 2019) Date of teaching: April 22nd, 2019 (4A) UNIT 19: WHAT ANIMAL DO YOU WANT TO SEE? LESSON 3 (Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to : - to know the way to stress the words. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, computer. III. New lesson: Warm up: - Let Ss sing the song “Why or why not” to motivate them before starting the new lesson. 1. Listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 62 and look at the given words. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the way to stress the words. - Stick the cards of the words on the board and ask Ss to look at the words on them. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and practice pronouncing the given words with the stress marks. - Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat the words and sentences in chorus three times. - Call on some Ss to repeat the words and sentences in front of the class. T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) 2. Listen and circle. Then say the sentences aloud. - Have Ss look at the sentences in part 2 on page 62. - Help Ss pronounce the given words in each sentence. - Let Ss listen to the tape and circle the correct answers. -Let Ss practice reading the given sentences. - Call on some Ss to read aloud the sentences in front of the class. - Check with the whole class and give feedback. 3. Let’s chant. - Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 62 and ask some eliciting questions. - Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the chant on the board and ask Ss to look at it. 1
- GRADE 4 - Tell Ss that they are going to chant. - Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the chant. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. - Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole chant. - Call on some Ss to sing the chant in front of the class. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary about zoo animals. - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly - Ss’s chant: you chant beautifully/well/wonderfully * Do the exercise in the workbook. ___ Date of teaching: April 22nd, 2019 (4A) April 23rd, 2019 (4B) UNIT 19: WHAT ANIMAL DO YOU WANT TO SEE? LESSON 3 (Part 4-5-6) I.Objectives: By the end of this unit, pupils can : - ask and answer questions about someone’s desire and express reasons. - Read and understand the text . - Write about favourite animal II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedures A. Warm – up: - Ask Ss to sing the chant in part 3 to motive them before starting the lesson. B. New lesson. 4. Read and complete. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 4 on Page 63. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them know the main content of the text. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task individually and then exchange their answers with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. - GRADE 4 - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 63. - Explain the way to do the task and help Ss distinguish the given questions. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to read aloud their paragraphs. - Check with the whole class and give feedback. Assessment criteria: - Correct words - Grammar - Spelling T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, vocabulary) 6. Project. - Have Ss look at the part 6 on page 63 and ask some eliciting questions. - Tell Ss that they are going to draw and colour their favourite zoo animals and then show them to class and say why they like them. - Let Ss work individually to do the task. - Call on some Ss to report the results to the class. - Give feedback. ___ Date of teaching: April 23rd, 2019 (4A) April 24th, 2019 (4B) UNIT 20: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO THIS SUMMER? LESSON 1 (Part 1-2) I.Objectives: By the end of this unit, pupils can : - ask and answer questions about where someone plans to go. (Strong Ss can speak fluently, pronounce and remember the words well. Weak Ss can speak the dialogue and model sentences). using Where are you going this summer? I’m going to - Read and understand the text . II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedures A. Warm – up: - Greeting. - Introduce the new lesson. B. New lesson. 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 64 and look at the pictures in part 1. 3
- GRADE 4 - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 3 groups, one group repeats Tom’s part, one group repeats Phong’s part and another one repeats Mai’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 64. - Introduce the new words by using different techniques + Ha Long Bay: Vịnh Hạ Long + summer: mùa hè + summer holidays: kì nghỉ hè - T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to ask and answer questions about where someone plans to go. Where are you going this summer? I’m going - Do the task with one student as an example. Ex: Teacher: Where are you going this summer? Linh: I’m going to Hue. - Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer questions about where someone plans to go by pointing the given pictures. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. - Let Ss play the game “Noughts and Crosses” to help them practice asking and answering questions about where someone plans to go. T’assessment: Go around and Observe if the students can practice exactly. - Teacher listens and pays attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) LESSON 1 (Part 3-4-5) I.Objectives: By the end of this unit, pupils can : - ask and answer questions about where someone plans to go. - listen for specific information. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks, pictures. III. Procedures A. Warm – up: QA. - Ask Ss to review the way to ask and answer questions about where someone plans to go. B. New lesson. 3. Listen and tick. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 3 on Page 65. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the places in the pictures in this task. - Explain the way to do the task. - Play the tape three times and let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. 4. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 4 on page 65. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to ask and answer questions about where someone plans to go. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback.
