  1. GRADE 4 WEEK 32 ( From 15 / 4 to 19/ 4 / 2019) Date of teaching: April 15th, 2019 (4A, 4B) UNIT 19: WHAT ANIMAL DO YOU WANT TO SEE? Lesson 1(Part 1-2) I. Objectives: By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to: - ask and answer questions about someone’s desire. (Strong Ss can speak fluently, pronounce and remember the words well. Weak Ss can speak the dialogue and model sentences).using What animal do you want to see? I want to see - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedure A. Warm up: watch a video about animals. B. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 58 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 2 groups, one group repeats Mai’s part and another one repeats Nam’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 58. - Present the new words by using different techniques + monkey: con khỉ + kangaroo: con túi + crocodile: con cá sấu + tiger: con hổ + elephant: con voi - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks. - Present the way to ask and answer questions about someone’s desire 1
  2. GRADE 4 What animal do you want to see? I want to see - Do the task with one student as an example. E.g: Teacher: What animal do you want to see? Hoa: I want to see monkeys. - Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer questions about someone’s desire by using the given cues. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. T’assessment: Go around and Observe if the students can practice exactly. - Teacher listens and pays attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) - T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) Ss & T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) ___ Date of teaching: April 15th, 2019 (4A) April 16th, 2019 (4B) UNIT 19: WHAT ANIMAL DO YOU WANT TO SEE? LESSON 1 (Part 3-4-5) I. Objectives: By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to: - ask and answer questions about someone’s desire. - listen for specific information. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedure A. Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to play the game "Wordsquare" to help them review the words about animals they have learnt. (monkey, crocodile, elephant, tiger, kangaroo) B. New lesson: 3. Listen and match. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 3 on Page 59. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the people and animals in the pictures in this task. - Explain the way to do the task. 2
  3. GRADE 4 - Play the tape three times and let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. 4. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 4 on page 59. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write the sentence about someone’s desire. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss work in pair to do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Key: 1. He wants to see crocodiles. 2. She wants to see monkeys. 3. They want to see kangaroos. 4. They want to see tigers. Assessment criteria: - Correct words - Grammar - Spelling T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, vocabulary) 5. Let’s play. - Have Ss look at the picture in part 5 on page 59 and ask some eliciting questions. - Ask Ss that they are going to play the game "Charades" to help them review the words about animals and the sentence patterns about someone’s desire - Explain the way to play the game and let Ss play the game. ___ Date of teaching: April 16th, 2019 (4A) April 17th, 2019 (4B) UNIT 19: WHAT ANIMAL DO YOU WANT TO SEE? Lesson 2(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to: - express reasons.Using I like because /I don’t like because - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedure 3
  4. GRADE 4 A. Warm up: - Ask Ss to play the game “Role play" to help them review the way to ask and answer questions about someone’s desire they have learnt. B. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 60 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 2 groups one group repeats Linda’s part and another one repeats Nam’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 60. - Present the new words by some eliciting techniques + zebra: con ngựa vằn + bear: con gấu + scary: đáng sợ + big: to , lớn + beautiful: đẹp + fast: nhanh - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to express reasons. I like because I don’t like because - Make a sentence as an example. E.g: Teacher: I like bears because they are big. - Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice expressing reasons by pointing the given cues. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. 3. Let’s talk. 4

GRADE 4 - Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to express reasons. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Invite other groups to give feedback. - Check and give feedback. Lesson 2(Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to: - listen for specific information to write the words. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedure A.Warm up: - Ask Ss to play the game “Matching” to help them review the words and the way to express reasons. B. New lesson: - Ask Ss to play the game “Matching” to help them review the words and the way to express reasons. 4. Listen and write. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 61. - Help Ss to distinguish the given sentences and the way to express reasons. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and write the words) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and write. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. 5. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 61. 5

GRADE 4 - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the words about animals and the way to express reasons. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Let’s sing. - Have Ss look at the picture in part 6 on page 61 and ask some eliciting questions. - Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the song on the board and ask Ss to look at it. (Show the song on the slide) - Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song. - Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the song. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. - Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole song. - Call on some ss to sing the song in front of the class. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary about animals: you remeber vocab - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly - Ss’s sing: you sing beautifully/well/wonderfully ___ 6
