  1. GRADE 4 WEEK 4 ( From 16/9 to 20/9 /2019) Date of teaching: September 16th, 2019.(4A,4B) UNIT 3: WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY? LESSON 1 (Part 1-2) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - know days of the week. - ask and answer questions about the days of the week, use - What day is it today? - It’s - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, computer, pictures . 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: Greeting. - Help Ss review what they have learnt in Unit 2 and elicit to introduce the new lesson. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Discover the pictures: + How many people are there? + Where are they? + Who is this? - listen and repeat - T elicits the model sentence: - What day is it today? - It’s - Ask Ss to work in pair to do the role play. - Call on some pairs to do the role play in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. Activity 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 18. - Present the new words by using different techniques + Monday: thứ Hai + Tuesday: thứ Ba + Wednesday: thứ Tư + Thursday: thứ Năm + Friday: thứ Sáu + Saturday: thứ Bảy 1
  2. GRADE 4 + Sunday: Chủ Nhật + today: hôm nay - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to ask and answer questions about the days of the week. E.g. Nam: What day is it today? Lan: It’s Monday. - Do the task with one student as an example. E.g: Teacher: What day is it today? Hoa: It’s Wednesday. - Ask Ss to work in pairs, one student ask and another one answers questions about the days of the week by pointing the given pictures. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. Assessment: SS’assessment: - You listen and pay attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) LESSON 1 (Part 3-4-5) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about the days of the week. - - Use the calendar to say or write the day. - listen for specific information. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette . 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: Greeting. - Let Ss play the game “Word square” to help them review the words about the days of the week. 2

Listen and tick. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 3 on Page 19. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the different days of the week in the pictures in this task. - Explain the way to do the task. - Play the tape three times and let Ss do the task. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. Activity 2. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 4 on page 19. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write thee sentences about the days of the week. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Assessment criteria: - Correct words - Grammar - Spelling T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, vocabulary) Activity 3. Let’s sing: - read sentences and words of the song - Play the recording and listen to the song. - do the actions and clap their hands after the song - Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary about days and subjects: you remeber the days of a week, subjects. - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly - Ss’s sing: you sing beautifully/well/wonderfully ___ Date of teaching: September 19th, 2019.(4A,4B) UNIT 3: WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY? Lesson 2(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about weekly activities. What do you do on ? - I - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. 3

Procedures Warm up: Greeting. - Ask Ss to play the game “Matching” to help them review the sentence patterns they have learnt. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Discover the pictures: + How many people are there? + Where are they? + Who is this? - listen and repeat - T elicits the model sentence : - What do you do on ? - I Activity 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 20. - Help Ss review the words about activities by using different techniques. - Present the way to ask and answer questions about weekly activities. Teaching aids. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, computer . 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: Greeting. - Ask Ss to do the role play to practice asking and answering questions about weekly activities by using the given cues. Activity 1. Listen and number. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 21. - Help Ss to distinguish the activities in the pictures and guess the order of the picture. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and number) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and number. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. Assessment: - Ss’ uderstanding about the content of listening task. Activity 2. Look and write . - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 21. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write the sentences about weekly activities. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. 5
