  1. GRADE 4 WEEK 31 ( From 8 / 4 to 12/ 4 / 2019) Date of teaching: April 8th, 2019 (4A, 4B) UNIT 18: WHAT’S YOUR PHONE NUMBER? LESSON 2(Part 1-2-3 I.Objectives: By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to: - accept and decline an invitation. using Would you like to ? I’d love to./Sorry, I can’t. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedures A. Warm – up: - Ask Ss to do the task “Role play” to help them review the way to ask and answer questions about phone number. B. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat Set the scene: - How many people are there in the pictures? - Who are they? - Where are they? - What are they talking about? Share ideas - Focus on the sentence pattern and lead in the new lesson. 1. Listen and repeat - T plays the recording, Ss listen and repeat once or twice. - Let Ss repeat in chorus or in pair if necessary. 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 54. - Present the new words by using different techniques + go for a walk: đi bộ + go for a picnic: đi dã ngoại + go fishing: đi câu cá + go skating: đi trượt băng - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks 1

E.g: Teacher: Would you like to go fishing? Thuy: I’d love to. - Ask Ss to work in pairs to accept and decline an invitation by pointing the given cues. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. 3. Let’s talk. - Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to accept and decline an invitation. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Invite other groups to give feedback. - Check and give feedback. Lesson 2(Part 4-5-6) I.Objectives: By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to: - listen for specific information to choose the correct answers. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedures A. Warm – up: QA. - Ask Ss to do the role play to practice accepting and declining an invitation by using the given cues. B. new lesson. 4. Listen and circle. 2

GRADE 4 - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 55. - Help Ss to distinguish the given words in each sentence and guess the correct answers. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and circle) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and circle. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. 5. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 55. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write the sentences patterns they have learnt. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. LESSON 3 (Part 1-2-3) I.Objectives: By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to: - know the way to stress the words. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Computer, CD tracks III. Procedures A. Warm – up: 3
  4. GRADE 4 - Let Ss play the game “Slap the numbers” to help them review the way to say the phone numbers. B. New lesson. 1. Listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 56 and look at the given words. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the way to stress the words (the second syllable). - Stick the cards of the words on the board and ask Ss to look at the words on them. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and practice pronouncing the given words with the stress marks. - Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat the words and sentences in chorus three times. - Call on some Ss to repeat the words and sentences in front of the class. Ss & T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) 2. Listen and circle. Then say the sentences aloud. - Have Ss look at the given words in part 2 on page 56. - Help Ss distinguish the words and the way to do the task by asking some eliciting questions. - Let Ss listen to the tape and do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answer. - Check the answers with the whole class. - Invite some Ss to read aloud the sentences with the circled. - Listen and give feedback. 3: Let's chant Aim: Chant with Intonation. Run through the song Open the tape twice Practice chant . LESSON 3 (Part 4-5-6) I.Objectives: By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to: - ask and answers questions about phone number, accept and decline an invitation. - write about the reasons for going somewhere. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: computer, CD tracks III. Procedures A. Warm – up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to sing the chant in part 3 to motive them before starting the lesson. B. new lesson. 4. Read and tick. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 4 on Page 57. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the information in the task. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task individually and then exchange their answers with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback.
