  1. GRADE 4 WEEK 3 ( From 9 / 9 to 13 / 9 / 2019) Date of teaching: September 9th, 2019.(4A,4B) UNIT 2: I’M FROM JAPAN Lesson 2(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about one’s nationality,using Where are you from?- I’m from - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, computer . picture, 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to sing the song “Where are you from?” to motivate Ss before starting the new lesson. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. Discover the pictures + How many people are there in this picture? + Who is this? + What is their name? - Listen to the recording a few times - listen and repeat line by line - say the words in each bubble. Activity 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 14. - Present the new words by eliciting techniques + Japanese: người Nhật + Vietnamese: người Việt Nam + American: người Mĩ + English: người Anh + Australian: người Úc +Malaysian: người Ma-lay-sia - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to ask and answer questions about one’s nationality. What nationality are you? 1
  2. GRADE 4 I’m - Do the task with one student as an example. E.g: Teacher: What nationality are you? Hoa: I’m Vietnamese. - Ask Ss to work in pairs, one student asks and another one answers questions about one’s nationality by pointing the given pictures and using the given words. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. Assessment: SS’assessment: - You listen and pay attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) Activity 3. Let’s talk. - Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to ask and answer questions about where someone is from and one’s nationality. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Invite other groups to give feedback. - Check and give feedback. - Do the exercise in the workbook. SS’assessment: You listen and pay attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication. ___ Date of teaching: September 10th, 2019.(4A,4B) UNIT 2: I’M FROM JAPAN Lesson 2(Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about one’s nationality. - develop their writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, computer . picture, 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: 2
  3. GRADE 4 - Greeting. - Ask Ss to play the game “Lucky numbers” to help them practice asking and answering questions about one’s nationality. Activity 1 . Listen and number - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 15. - Help Ss to distinguish the pictures and guess the order of the pictures. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and number) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and number. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. Activity 2. Look and write . - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 15. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write sentences about where someone is from and one’s nationality - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. T’s assessment: Go round and observe, correct on ss’writing. Activity 3. Let’s play - Ask Ss that they are going to play the game “Find someone who”. - Explain the way to play the game for Ss. - Let Ss play the game. Criteria for Ss’assessment : Excellent Good Ok Design Spelling Presentation ___ Date of teaching: September 12th, 2019.(4A,4B) UNIT 2: I’M FROM JAPAN LESSON 3 (Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - pronounce correctly and distinguish the sound of the letter “j” and the sound of the letter “v”. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. 3
  4. GRADE 4 II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures *Warm up: - Let Ss play the game “Guess who someone is” to practice asking and answering questions about where someone is from and one’s nationality. Activity 1. Listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 16 and look at the letters “j” and “v”. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the way to pronounce correctly the sound of letter “j” and the sound of the letter “v”. - Stick the cards of the words with the letters on the board and ask Ss to look at the words on them. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and practice pronouncing the focused sounds. (in isolation and in words) - Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat the words and sentences in chorus three times. - Call on some Ss to repeat the words and sentences in front of the class. - Let Ss find some words with the sounds and practice pronouncing. - Observe and give help when necessary. Activity 2. Listen and tick. Then say aloud. - Have Ss look at the given words in part 2 on page 16. - Help Ss distinguish the words and the way to do the task by asking some eliciting questions. - Let Ss listen to the tape and do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answer. - Check the answers with the whole class. - Invite some Ss to read aloud the sentences with the key. - Listen and give feedback. Assessment: SS’assessment: - You listen and pay attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) Let’s chant. - Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 16 and ask some eliciting questions. - Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the chant on the board and ask Ss to look at it. - Teach the new words and the sentence in the song. + Tokyo - Tell Ss that they are going to chant. - Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the chant. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. - Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole chant. - Call on some groups to sing the chant in front of the class. Assessement: - good pronunciation, good intonation. ___ Date of teaching: September 13th, 2019.(4A,4B) UNIT 2: I’M FROM JAPAN LESSON 3 (Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - greet and respond to greetings formally. - write about themselves. - Make a name card and draw the flag. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures - Greeting. - Ask Ss to sing the chant in part 3 to motive them before starting the lesson. Activity 1. Read and complete. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 4 on Page 17. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the information in the table that they have to complete. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss work in pairs to do the task - Call on some pairs to give their answers. - Check the answerswith the whole class and give feedback. 5

Activity 2. Let’s write . - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 17. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Activity 3. Project. - Have Ss look at the part 6 on page 17 and ask some eliciting questions. - Tell Ss that they are going to make a name card about themselves using the given cues and draw a flag. - Let Ss work in pair to design their cards. - Call on some pair to show their cards in front of the class. - Give feedback.
