1. GRADE 4 WEEK 28 ( From 18 / 3 to 22 / 3 / 2019) Date of teaching: March 18th, 2019 (4A, 4B) UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP. LESSON 2(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. Using Why do you want to go to the ? Because I want to - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, picture, cassette. III. New lesson: Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to play the game “Matching” to help them review the words they have learnt. (Matching the words with the pictures.) 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 42 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 3 groups, one group repeats Tony’s part, one group repeats Linda’s part and other one repeats Mai’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 42. - Present the new words by using different techniques + zoo: sở thú + see: xem + animal: động vật + cinema: rạp chiếu phim + film: phim +swimming pool: bể bơi, hồ bơi 1
2. GRADE 4 - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. Why do you want to go to the ? Let’s talk. - Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Invite other groups to give feedback. - Check and give feedback. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. - listen for specific information to choose the correct answers. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, computer, picture, cassette. III. New lesson: 2
3. GRADE 4 Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to do the role play to practice asking for and giving reasons for going somewhere by using the given cues. 4. Listen and circle. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 43. - Help Ss to distinguish the given words in each sentence and guess the correct answers. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and circle) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and circle. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. 5. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 43. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write the sentences about reasons for going somewhere. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. 4. GRADE 4 Date of teaching: March 19th, 2019 (4A) March 20th, 2019 (4B) UNIT 16: LET'S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP. LESSON 3 (Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - pronounce correctly and distinguish the syllables of words. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, computer, picture, cassette. III. New lesson: *Warm up - Greeting. - Let Ss play the game “Role Play” to help them review the way to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. 1. Listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 44 and look at the given words. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the way to pronounce correctly the given words and the syllables each word has. - Stick the cards of the words with the letters on the board and ask Ss to look at the words on them. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and practice pronouncing the words. (in isolation and in words) - Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat the words and sentences in chorus three times. - Call on some Ss to repeat the words and sentences in front of the class. T’assessment: Go around and Observe if the students can practice exactly. 2. Listen, circle and write. Then say aloud. - Have Ss look at the given words in part 2 on page 44. - Help Ss distinguish the words and the way to do the task by asking some eliciting questions. - Let Ss listen to the tape and do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answer. - Check the answers with the whole class. - Invite some Ss to read aloud the completed sentences. - Listen and give feedback. 3. Let’s chant. 4

GRADE 4 - Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 44 and ask some eliciting questions. - Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the chant on the board and ask Ss to look at it. - Tell Ss that they are going to chant. - Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the chant. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. - Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole chant. - Call on some ss to sing the chant in front of the class. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary about places: you remeber the vocabulary. - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly - Ss’s chant: you chant beautifully/well/wonderfully ___ Date of teaching: March 21st, 2019 (4A) March 22nd, 2019 (4B) UNIT 16: LET'S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP. LESSON 3 (Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - make and respond to suggestions to go somewhere, ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. - write about the reasons for going somewhere. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, computer, picture III. New lesson: * Warm up - Greeting. - Ask Ss to sing the chant in part 3 to motive them before starting the lesson. 4. Read and number. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 4 on Page 45. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the information in each picture. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task individually and then exchange their answers with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. 5
