- GRADE 4 WEEK 28 ( From 18 / 3 to 22 / 3 / 2019) Date of teaching: March 18th, 2019 (4A, 4B) UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP. LESSON 2(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. Using Why do you want to go to the ? Because I want to - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, picture, cassette. III. New lesson: Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to play the game “Matching” to help them review the words they have learnt. (Matching the words with the pictures.) 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 42 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 3 groups, one group repeats Tony’s part, one group repeats Linda’s part and other one repeats Mai’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 42. - Present the new words by using different techniques + zoo: sở thú + see: xem + animal: động vật + cinema: rạp chiếu phim + film: phim +swimming pool: bể bơi, hồ bơi 1
- GRADE 4 - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. Why do you want to go to the ? Because I want to - Do the task with one student as an example. E.g: Teacher: Why do you want to go to the sweet shop? Đuc: Because I want to buy some chocolate. - Ask Ss to work in pairs to to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere by pointing the given cues. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. 3. Let’s talk. - Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Invite other groups to give feedback. - Check and give feedback. Lesson 2(Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. - listen for specific information to choose the correct answers. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, computer, picture, cassette. III. New lesson: 2
- GRADE 4 Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to do the role play to practice asking for and giving reasons for going somewhere by using the given cues. 4. Listen and circle. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 43. - Help Ss to distinguish the given words in each sentence and guess the correct answers. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and circle) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and circle. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. 5. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 43. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write the sentences about reasons for going somewhere. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. - GRADE 4 Date of teaching: March 19th, 2019 (4A) March 20th, 2019 (4B) UNIT 16: LET'S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP. LESSON 3 (Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - pronounce correctly and distinguish the syllables of words. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, computer, picture, cassette. III. New lesson: *Warm up - Greeting. - Let Ss play the game “Role Play” to help them review the way to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. 1. Listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 44 and look at the given words. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the way to pronounce correctly the given words and the syllables each word has. - Stick the cards of the words with the letters on the board and ask Ss to look at the words on them. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and practice pronouncing the words. (in isolation and in words) - Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat the words and sentences in chorus three times. - Call on some Ss to repeat the words and sentences in front of the class. T’assessment: Go around and Observe if the students can practice exactly. 2. Listen, circle and write. Then say aloud. - Have Ss look at the given words in part 2 on page 44. - Help Ss distinguish the words and the way to do the task by asking some eliciting questions. - Let Ss listen to the tape and do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answer. - Check the answers with the whole class. - Invite some Ss to read aloud the completed sentences. - Listen and give feedback. 3. Let’s chant. 4
- GRADE 4 - Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 44 and ask some eliciting questions. - Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the chant on the board and ask Ss to look at it. - Tell Ss that they are going to chant. - Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the chant. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. - Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole chant. - Call on some ss to sing the chant in front of the class. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary about places: you remeber the vocabulary. - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly - Ss’s chant: you chant beautifully/well/wonderfully ___ Date of teaching: March 21st, 2019 (4A) March 22nd, 2019 (4B) UNIT 16: LET'S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP. LESSON 3 (Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to : - make and respond to suggestions to go somewhere, ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. - write about the reasons for going somewhere. - develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. II. Teaching aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, computer, picture III. New lesson: * Warm up - Greeting. - Ask Ss to sing the chant in part 3 to motive them before starting the lesson. 4. Read and number. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 4 on Page 45. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the information in each picture. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task individually and then exchange their answers with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. 5

Project. - Have Ss look at the part 6 on page 45 and ask some eliciting questions. - Tell Ss that they are going to interview three classmates about the places they want to go on Sunday and why they want to go there, and then report the results to the class. - Let Ss work in group of 4 to interview their classmates. - Call on some group to report the results in front of the class. - Give feedback.
