- GRADE 4 WEEK 19 ( From 18 / 1 to 22 / 1 / 2021) Monday, January 18th 2021.(4A,4B) UNIT 11: WHAT TIME IS IT? LESSON 1 (Part 1-2) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about time. What time is it? - It’s - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greeting. - sing a song Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 6 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Introduce the vocabulary. + time: thời gian + go to school: đi học - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 2 groups, one group repeats Phong’s part and another one repeats Phong’s mother’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. Activity 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 6. - Present the way to say the time (say the hours and the minutes). - Present the way to ask and answer questions about time. What time is it? It’s + time. - Do the task with one student as an example. 1
- GRADE 4 E.g: Teacher: What time is it? Linh: It’s seven o’clock. - Ask Ss to work in pairs, one student asks and another one answers questions about time by pointing the given pictures. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. T’assessment: Go around and Observe if the students can practice exactly. - Teacher listens and pays attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) - T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) ___ Tuesday, January 19th 2021.(4A,4B) UNIT 11: WHAT TIME IS IT? LESSON 1 (Part 3-4-5) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about time. What time is it? - It’s - listen for specific information. - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to review the way to ask and answer questions about time. Activity 1. Listen and tick. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 3 on Page 7. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the time in the pictures in this task. - Explain the way to do the task. - Play the tape twice and let Ss work in pairs do the task. 2
- GRADE 4 - Call on some pairs to give their answers. - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. Activity2. Look and write. - Have Ss look at part 4 on page 7. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to ask and answer questions about time and the way to say the time. - Explain the way to do the task. - Let Ss do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. Key: 2. It’s ten twenty. 3. It’s ten thirty. 4. It’s eleven fifty. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Activity3. Let’s sing. - - read sentences and words of the song - Play the recording and listen to the song. - do the actions and clap their hands after the song - Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary about time. - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly - Ss’s sing: you sing beautifully/well/wonderfully ___ Thursday, January 21st 2021.(4A,4B) UNIT 11: WHAT TIME IS IT? Lesson 2(Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about daily routines. What time do you ? I at - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: 3
- GRADE 4 Greeting. - Ask Ss to sing the song “What tim is it?” to motivate Ss before starting the new lesson. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 8 and look at the pictures in part 1. - Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues. - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Divide the class into 2 groups, one group repeats Tom’s part and another one repeats Linda’s part. Then change the roles. - Listen and give feedback. Activity 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 8. - Present the new words by eliciting techniques + get up: thức dậy + have breakfast: ăn sáng + have dinner: ăn tối + go to bed: đi ngủ - After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually. - Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks - Present the way to ask and answer questions about daily routines. What time do you ? I at + time. - Do the task with one student as an example. E.g: Teacher: What tiem do you go to school? Binh: I go to school at six thirty. - Ask Ss to work in pairs, one student asks and another one answers questions about daily routines by pointing the given pictures and using the given words. Then Ask Ss to change the roles. - Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class. - Listen and give feedback. Activity 3. Let’s talk. 4
- GRADE 4 - Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to ask and answer questions about time and daily routines. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Invite other groups to give feedback. - Do the exercise in the workbook T’assessment: - Teacher listens and pays attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) - T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) ___ Friday, January 22nd 2021.(4A,4B) UNIT 11: WHAT TIME IS IT? Lesson 2(Part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - ask and answer questions about daily routines. - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greeting. - Ask Ss to play the game “Lucky numbers” to help them practice asking and answering questions about daily routines. Activity 1. Listen and draw the time. - Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page 9. - Help Ss to distinguish the daily routines in the pictures and guess the time of the pictures. - Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and draw the time for each picture.) - Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and draw the time. - Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. 5
- GRADE 4 - Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class. T’assessment: Go around and Observe if the students can practice exactly. Activity 2. Draw and write the time. - Have Ss look at part 5 on page 9. - Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write sentences about daily routines and the time. - Explain the way to do the task. (They are going to draw the time for their daily routines and the write the answers for given questions. - Let Ss work in pairs to do the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers. - Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback. Criteria for Ss’assessment : Excellent Good Ok Design Spelling Presentation Activity 3. Let’s play. - Ask Ss that they are going to play the game “Pass the secret”. - Explain the way to play the game for Ss. - Let Ss play the game. - Do the exercise in workbook. - Do the exercise in the workbook. ___ 6
