  1. WEEK 24 Date of teaching:Thursday morning, February, 22nd, 2018 Class: 51,52,53 UNIT 14: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STORY? LESSON 3: 1,2,3 I.Objectives: By the end of this lesson pupils can • - use the words and phrases related to the topic Talking about stories. - say sentences with the correct intonation. • - Express their concern about book and stories. - Pronounce in right intonation II. Teaching aids: - E-board, computer, CD tracks III. New lesson: Warm up: - T asks Ss to play the game: “ Spelling bee ” Activity1. Listen and repeat Step1: Tell the class that they are going to practise saying the question and answers which have falling intonation. Step2: Teacher play the tape, students listen Step3: Listen and repeat: -Play the CD and have Ps repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role.Focus Ps’ attention on the intonation -Listen and repeat - Practice the sounds carefully Activity2. Listen and circlea or b. Then say the sentences aloud. Aims of this activity Listen and circle the correct answer Step 1: Tell the class that they are going to listen and circle a or b to complete the sentences. Step 2: Play the recording for them to listen. Play it again for them to do the task. Step 3: Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence. Step 4: Get them to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class.
  2. Step 5: Have them read the completed sentences aloud. Activity 3: Listen to the story: Aims: Ss can listen and understand the story The fox and the crow Step 1: - Teacher introduces the story Step 2: - Play the tape. Ask students to read each sentence in the story Step 3: - Play the story again and asks students to read • Step 4: - Divide the class into three teams: one says the narrator’s words; one says the Fox’s words and one says the Crow’s words. • Step 5: - Invite three groups to tell the story and do actions. II. Teaching aids:E-board, computer, CD tracks. III. Procedures A. Warm – up: Let's chant B. New lesson. Activity 4: Read and Write
  3. Step 1: Tell the class that they are going to read the passage and answer the questions. Step 2: Give the meanings of unfamiliar words and get pupils to read the questions and underline the key words in the passage. If necessary, get pupils to work in pairs or groups. Step 3: Set a time limit for pupils to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Step 4: Have them compare their answers before checking as a class. Give explanations, if necessary. Activity 5. Write about the characters in your favourite story. Step 1: Tell the class that they are going to write about the characters in your favourite story. Step 2: Give them time to read and do the task. Step 3: Set a time limit for them to write sentences independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Step 4: Get them to swap and read their answers in pairs before inviting two or three pupils to read their answers aloud Activity 6. Project • Aims: - Talk about your favourite story and the character. Step 1: Tell the class that they are going to tell a story and say what they think of the characters. Step 2: Get them to work in groups of five and decide which story to tell the class and what they think of the characters. Step 2: Set a time limit for them to discuss and write notes. Select two or three groups to tell the stories and their opinions on the characters. Activity 7. Colour the stars: Step 1: Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension.
  4. Step 2 Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the statements aloud. Step 3: Give further support to pupils who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives. V. Home link Ask Ss to share Project with their family
