Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will be able to improve listening and reading skill in asking and answering questions about story, use vocabulary and structure they have learnt, practise the pronunciation, stress, rhythm - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills II. Language focus Revision of sentence patterns & vocabulary they have learnt III. Resources 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette, recording 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - Greetings - revising the lesson in Activity 6 by inviting some ss to answer questions A. PRACTICE ACTIVITY 1. Read and listen to the story - Tell the class that they are going to read and listen to the story • - Tell the class that they are going to read and listen to the story. • Set a time limit for them to read the story. • After pupils read the story, ask them some questions: Where are Chit and Miu? What’s the matter with Miu? What’s Miu going to do with Maurice and Doris? Where’s Mauris? What’s the matter with him? (Chit and Miu are in the living room. Miu has a headache, a stomach ache and a fever. Miu is going to the zoo with Maurice and Doris. Maurice is at home. He’s ill.) • Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in
- their books. Play it again for them to listen and repeat. 2. Answer the questions • Tell pupils that they are going to answer the questions about the story. • Give them time to look at the story again, then read the questions and answer them in pairs. Check comprehension and give feedback. • Invite some pairs to say the answers aloud. Encourage them to use complete sentences.
