- GRADE 5 WEEK 20 ( From 25 / 1 to 29 / 1 / 2021) Monday, January 25th 2021.(5A,5B) UNIT 11: WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU? Lesson 3 (1,2,3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - pronounce the sound and stress correctly. - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: *Q.A: Call a few pairs to the front of the class to ask and answer the question: - What’s the matter with you? - You should / shouldn’t ___ Yes, I will. Thanks. / No, I won’t. Thanks Activity 1. Listen and repeat - Look at book and listen the words and sentences . - Pay attention about the red stress and how to read stress correctly. - Read the words after the tape. - Read the sentences with the correct stress. - Repeat the sentences after the tape. -nCall on a pair to repeat each line. - Practice speaking with the partner. - Turn back the role play - Change another partner in groups to practice (close pairs / open pairs) - The leader controls and calls classmate in groups to role play. - Other classmates listen and feedback. Ss & T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) 1
- GRADE 5 Activity 2. Listen and circle a or b, then ask and answer - Listen to the request of the task and identify the characters in sentences - Listen to the tape carefully. - 1st: Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the sentences in their books. - 2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and circle the correct answer. - Choose one or two Ss to share their answers with their classmates. - 3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers. - Listen to the tape again and compare with the partners (close pairs / open pairs) - Trade the answer together. - Ask and answer aloud. - Feedback for correction - Give out the answers. - Read the sentences aloud. Listen and feedback with the teacher Activity 3. Let’s chant: What’s the matter with you? - Run through all the sentences of the chant invididually. - Listen the chant carefully. - Read the chant after the tape. - Read the chant and clap the hand. - Practice the chant with classmates. - The leader controls and calls classmate in groups to read the chant. - Other classmates listen and feedback. Assessement: - Ss’s vocabulary about health problems. - Ss’s structure: you can use the question “ ” exactly 2

Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - pronounce the sound and stress correctly. - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: Let’s chant: What’s the matter with you? Activity 1. Read and match. - Read the text carefully to understand the meaning and what they are reading. - Read and get information to match - Trade their answers within pairs or groups to compare together (close pairs / open pairs) - Feedback the answer with the partner - One student reads the answers aloud to the groups. The others listen and give comments. Trade the answer for correction Activity 2. Write your advice - Identify the text and what they are writing. - Read and get information to write about your advice - Trade their text within pairs or groups to compare together (close pairs / open pairs) 3

Assessment criteria: - Correct words - Grammar - Spelling T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, vocabulary) Activity 3. Project: talk about two health problems and give advice - Interview two classmates about their health problems and then give advice - Report in class - Listen and comment Activity 4. Color the stars - Read the guiding in the book - Color all the stars if you can do all the tasks - Review the knowledge. Assessment: SS’assessment: - You listen and pay attention to their questions and answers; their voice & pronunciation; their intonation, their communication (Do they communicate or only read a question?) T’s asessment: give oral comments (focus on their exact structure, pronunciation, interaction) ___ Thursday, January 28th 2021.(5A,5B) UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST ! Lesson 1: Part 1,2,3 I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - use the words and phrases related to the topic Preventing accidents at home. - express and respond to concerns about possible accidents at home, using Don’t ! OK, I won’t. - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. 4
- GRADE 5 II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - greeting - Have the class report the results of the class health survey from Unit 11, Lesson 3, Activity 6. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Discover the pictures: + How many people are there? + Where are they? + Who is this? - listen and repeat - T elicits the model sentence: Don’t play with the knife! You may cut yourself. OK, I won’t. Activity 2. Point, ask and answer. - Tell the class that they are going to practise expressing and responding to concerns about possible accidents at home, using Don’t ! OK, I won’t. - Give the meanings of matches and run down the stairs. - Have them look at the pictures and repeat the phrases once or twice. - Point at each picture and have pupils practise saying sentences with Don’t , using the information under each picture. Get them to practise in pairs. - Invite one or two pairs to say the sentences to check how well they have practised. Activity 3. Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practise further by talking about accidents at home. - Get them to work in pairs and use the sentences in their books. - Set a time limit for them to practise. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Invite a few pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class. Then give feedback. Assessment: 5

Lesson 1:Part 4,5,6 I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will: - use the words and phrases related to the topic Preventing accidents at home. - express and respond to concerns about possible accidents at home, using Don’t ! OK, I won’t. - Develop listening ,speaking, writing and reading skills. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: computer, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures Warm up: - greeting *Q.A: Call a few pairs to the front of the class to talk the topic Preventing accidents at home. - Don’t play with the knife! You may cut yourself. - OK, I won’t. Activity 1. Listen and match: - Tell the class that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the correct pictures. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to do the task. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class. Play the recording a third time for them to listen again, if necessary. *Key: 1 b 2 c 3 a 4 b Activity 2. Read and complete: - Tell the class that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps with the words in the box. - Give them a few seconds to read the text and the words in the box. Remind them to focus on the context to select the appropriate words. Give the meaning of heard him running down. 6

Let’s sing: Tell the class that they are going to sing Don’t do that! Have them read the lyrics. Check their comprehension. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Play it again for them to do choral repetition line by line. - When pupils are familiar with the melody, ask them to sing along with the music before having them practise singing and doing actions in groups. - Invite a group to sing the song and do actions in front of the class.
