  1. UNIT 9: WHAT COLOUR IS IT? LESSON 1 (Part 1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: - Identify the vocabulary about school things. - Ask and answer questions about school things, using is this/ that your + school thing? – Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t. It’s - Express students’ concern about their friends’ school things by using question “Is this/that your + school thing?”. II. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook III. Procedure: A. Warm up - Chant “Look! Look! Look!” and clap their hands. T Gives feedback (pronunciation, performance and voice) Q-A: Ask Ss to eliciting questions to elicit the new lessons. B. New lesson Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat Discover the picture: - How many people are there in the picture? - Where are they? - Who are they? - What is it? Share ideas - Focus on the structure, lead in the new lesson. Listen and repeat - T plays the recording, Ss listen and repeat line by line once or twice. - Have Ss repeat the whole dialogue in chorus or in group. (Call on some pairs to do the role play if it’s necessary.) Activity 2. Point and say. Ask Ss to revise the vocabulary about school things by playing the game “Matching”. T gives comments ( checklist) Teach the sentence pattern. Ask some questions to elicit the new sentence pattern of the lesson. “Is this/that your + school thing? – Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.”
  2. Modeling Point and say - Use textbook Peer assessment (Ss work in pairs to practice asking and answering about school things by using the new sentence pattern. T prepares checklists: pronunciation, structure, interaction for Ss.) T observes and gives feedback Activity 3. Let’s talk. (10ms) Ask Ss to play the game “Noughts and Crosses” Introduce the rules of the game and model. Students play. Praise. C. Homelink: Draw your schoolthings. UNIT 9: WHAT COLOUR IS IT? Lesson 1: (part 4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson ss will be able to: - Revise vocabulary about school things and the using of the words: this/ that - pactise Listening, Reading and writing the school things - Express their concern about the school things around them. II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, computer 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedures A.Warm up: - chant: I have a pen and to clap their hands. Assessement: ( praise and share) - Ss’s vocabulary about school things: you remember some objects related to school things( pen, pencil, rubber, pencil case .) - Ss’s structure: you can use the sentence pattern “ I have a/ an .” exactly - Ss’s chant: you chant beautifully/well/wonderfully
  3. B. New lesson: Activity 4. Listen and tick - Show pupils how to carry out the task and tick the box. Elicit the pictures. Have pupils repeat them once and twice - Play the recording three times for pupils to listen, do the task and check their answers - Get pupils to swap and check their answers before checking as a class Key: 1b 2a 3b *T’assessment: ( quick notes) -You observe the ways students do the task. - Give oral comments (distinguish the words “ This/ That) Activity 5. Look, read and write Q-A: - Elicit the pictures: + How many people are there? + Who is he/ she? + What’s this? ( point to the object in the picture?) + Model the first sentence with one realia ( Call one student hold the ruler and you ask the him/ her? Is this your ruler? When she or he say : Yes, it is. You write in the blackboard: Yes, It is. + Ask the second one if you want to answer No, it isn’t. ( Is this your pen?) And then you write No, it isn’t. - Give pupils time to do the task, swap and check their answers. => peer-assessment - Do choral and individual repetition *T’assessment: ( quick notes) -You observe how to students work in a group ( co-opration, discipline, the duty of the leader ) - Praise and share: ( Good job/ Perfect/ .) - S’s assessment: + give written comments (focus on the word-spelling). Students check together. + role play: ( Mary/ Peter) Key: 1pen, it is 2 pencil case, it isn’t 3 school bag, it is 4 book, it is Activity 6 Let’s write: logo? - Give students a few seconds to look at the pictures and read the text in silence. * * Q-A: Check comprehension and give feedback

What colour are they? – They are + colour. - Express Sts’ concern about color of school things. II.Teaching Aids: CD player. III. Procedures A. Warm up: Game : What’s in the bag? Desk, pen, book, notebook, pencil, pencil case, pencil sharpener - QA: Sts’ vocabualaries about school things - Oral comments - Praise and share B. New lesson. Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.10ms + Discover the picture: *Q-A -How many people are there in the picture? - Who are they? - What is this? ( Point to the objects) + Listen to the recording a few times ( 3 times) + Listen and repeat line by line. + Say the words in each bubble Activity 2: Point and say.10ms Aims of this activity - Ask and answer about color of school things

Focus on the structure, pre-teach vocabulary * Modelling Point and say Use textbook. - Observation Activity 3: production (let’s talk)10ms Aims: Ss can use the new structure in a particular situation. look at the picture Work in pairs, ask and answer about color of school things ( singular and plural) Introduce about color of Sts’ school things Cues: - This is my pen. It’s blue. - They are my notebooks. They are pink. - Oral : comments, feedback - Observation : Quick notes, checklists C.Homelink. Draw and color 3 school things they like. Lesson 2( Part 4+ 5 +6 ) I.Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss can: - Revise about the colours of school things. - Practice listening and reading skills by using the question : What colour is it ? – It’s What colour are they? – They’re - Express their concern about the colours of the school things. II.Teaching aids: - Teacher’s book, student’s book, pictures, CD player, CD
  6. III.Procedure: A. Warm up: (3ms) - T hold a game of colours with school things. *Oral: B. New lesson: Activity 1: Listen and number. (7ms) Discover the picture *Q-A: How many T plays the recording and Ss listen once or twice. call some ss share answers and give feedback. Key: Q.A ( focus on questions : What colour is the pen? Activity 2: Read and match (12ms) T ask ss identify the task . ss read the sentences and do the task. Some ss read the answers aloud , give comments and correct. * Written Comments Activity 3: Let’s sing. Ss read sentence by sentence. Ss listen to the model song and sing following. sing in groups some groups act out in class. Oral comments( focus on pronunciation, voice and intonations). C. Homelink (3ms) Ss sing with their friends/ family.
