  1. UNIT 6: STAND UP! Lesson 2: Part 1,2,3 I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: - Identify the words: come in, go out, speak, write. - Practice asking for and giving permission, using May I ? Yes, you can./ No, you can’t. - Express Ss’ concern about permission through application activity. II. Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedure: A. Warm up: Play the game: Slap the board stand up, sit down, come here, don’t talk, open your book, close your book T’s assessment: - Ss’ vocabulary about classroom instructions - Praise and share B. New lesson: Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat Discover the pictures: - Who are they in the picture? - Where are they? - What are they talking about? - . Share ideas - Focus on the structure, lead in the new lesson. Listen and repeat - T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat twice. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus or in pairs Activity 2: Point and say pre-teach vocabulary Word-check: Rub out and remember Sentence patterns: May I ? Yes, you can. / No, you can’t.

Some pairs act out in class, others observe Ss and T’s assessments: Give oral comments (focus on exact structure, pronunciation, intonation, interaction) Activity3: Production:( Let’s talk) Imagine you are an English teacher, you are in the classroom, your pupils ask for permission and you give permission. Work in groups. Each person takes turn to be a teacher. The group members ask for permission. The representative of groups take turns to be a teacher to give permission. Some students ask for permission. Ss and T’s assessments: Give oral comments (focus on exact structure, pronunciation, intonation, interaction) C. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: - Revise the words of asking for and give permission by listening to the conversations - Read to get information and match the dialogues with appropriate pictures. - Practice writing asking for permission with guided pictures. - Express their concern about permission in particular situations

Warm up: Pass the ball to play the game: Charades (with the words: come in, go out, speak, write, open your book, close your book) T’s assessment: Give oral comments( focus on their exact actions, pronunciation and their interest about the game) B. New lesson: Activity 1: Listen and number Discover the pictures: - Picture a. What is the girl doing ? - Picture b. What does the girl say? - Listen to the recording twice and number the pictures Swap and check their answers. Listen to the recording and check the answers Some Ps read their answer aloud. Ss and T give comments and correct. Key: a4 b1 c2 d3 Activity 2: Read and match Discover the pictures: -Picture a. What is the boy doing? -Picture b. What does the boy say? Read the dialogues and match the dialogues with appropriate pictures. T. observes the ways students do the task and gives oral comments Swap and check their answers. Some Ps read their answer aloud.   4. Step1: Discover the pictures: - Who are they in picture 1?. What does the boy say? - Who is the boy?. What does he say? Find the words, fill the gaps to complete the sentences. T’s assessment: Observe and give comments (focus on word-spelling) Swap and check their answers. Some Ps read their answer aloud. Ss and T’s assessment: Give comments and correct. Key: 1.come in 2. sit down 3. close my book 4. open my book Activity 4: Production: You are in your class. You want to do something or borrow something from your friends. Ask for permission before you do or borrow that things. Think of the situations to talk to your friends. - Work in groups. Each person takes turn to ask for permission, the group members give permission. Act out the dialogues in front of the class Cues -You want to borrow your friend’s pencil :May I borrow your pencil? -You want to ask your friend a question: Ss and T’s assessments: Give oral comments (focus on exact structure, pronunciation, intonation, interaction) C.   5. Period 40 UNIT 6: STAND UP! Lesson 3: Part 1,2,3 I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: - Identify two sounds /k/ and /d/ - Listen and write the words containing the sounds /k/ and /d/ - Revise the words related to the topic classroom instructions through singing. - Express students’ concern about giving and responding instructions, , asking for and giving permission. II. Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Procedure: Warm up: Play the game: Matching (Match pictures with words or phrases) Oral comments (Praise and share) B. New lesson: Activity 1: Listen and repeat : Introduce the sounds /k/ and /d/ Listen and repeat - T plays the recording, Ss listen and repeat. Practice pronouncing. Assessment: focus on Ss’ pronunciation. Activity 2: Listen and write Guess the words containing the letter c, sound /k / and the letter d, sound /d/ to fill the gaps. -Listen to the recording and check your guess then write the words you hear to fill the gaps. * Observation: Focus on spelling Some pupils read the answers aloud. T gives comments and feedback Key: 1. come 2. Down Activity 3: Let’s sing
  6. Introduce the song, read each line of the song, pupils listen and repeat Listen to the recording and sing the song Practise singing and doing the actions Sing the song in groups. One group sings the first two lines, the other sings the next three lines, the whole class sing the last line together Oral comments: (lyrics, rhythm and pronunciation) Activity 4: Production: You come to your friend’s house. You want to do something and you ask for permission before doing. Think of the things you may ask for permission when coming to your friend’s house. Role-play, make dialogue Some groups act out the dialogues. Cues: - Hello - Hello, come in and sit down, please. - May I borrow your book? - Yes, you can. Here you are. - Thank you. - May I turn on the TV? - May I Ss and T’s assessments: Give oral comments (focus on exact structure, pronunciation, intonation, interaction) C. Homelink: Sing the song Come in and sit down Week 11 Period 41 UNIT 6: STAND UP! Lesson 3: Part 4,5,6 I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: - Revise the words and structures they have learned in unit 6 by matching the words to make meaningful sentences.
  7. - Practice writing by completing the sentences using the guided pictures. - Express concern about instructions II. Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks, paper, scissors. III. Procedure: A.Warm up: Sing the song Come in and sit down. Assessment: - Ss’ interest about the song - Ss’ lyrics and rhythm - Ss’ singing: sing beautifully/ wonderfully. B. New lesson: Activity 1: Read and match Read the words and phrases. Match the words in two columns to make meaningful sentences. T’s assessment: observe and give comments Swap and check their answers. Some pupils give their answers. Some pupils read the sentences . Oral comment: - Ss can match correctly . - Ss read the sentences correctly Key: 1c 2e 3b 4d 5a Activity 2: Look, read and write Discover the pictures: -Who are they in picture 1? What does Mr Loc say? -What are the boys doing in picture 2. What does Mr Loc say? . Find the words, fill the gaps to complete the sentences. T’s assessment: observe and give comments (focus on spelling) Swap and check their answers.
  8. Some pupils give their answers Some pupils read the sentences or the dialogues again. T’s assessment: Give oral comments and feedback Key: 1.Sit 2.talk 3go out, you can 4stand up, you can’t. Activity 3: Production(Project) Write the instructions on small sheets of paper Put the sheets of paper in a box, Each person takes turn to choose, read and act them out, the group members do the actions. Representative of the groups pick the instructions, read and act them out, the classmates do the actions. Cues: -Open your book, please. -Yes/ OK Ss and T’s assessment: Give oral comments (focus on exact structure, actions pronunciation, intonation and interaction ) C. Homelink: At weekend, you don’t go to school and you want to do some things. Write to your mother about permission.
