Aim: By the end of this unit, pupils can • use the words and phrases related to the topic Sports Day • say questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. .II. Language content 1. Vocabulary: none 2. Sentence pattern: none 3. Skill: speaking, writing and listening skills. III. Resources and teaching aids: Teacher: teacher’s book, cassette, tape, board Students: students’ book IV. Techniques: guessing, sing V. Procedure Warm up: greeting A. Basic activities 4. Read and tick - Teacher ask Ss to read and check the four sentences - Teacher ask Ss to match - Ask students check the answer with the partner - Calls some sts to read. Check, and correct their mistakes 5. Write about Sports Day - Teacher explains how to do the task and the difficult words - Ask Ss to write their favourite book. - Call some students to read aloud their answers - Correct B. Read and write. • Tell the class that they are going to read the passage and write the answers to the questions. • Give them time to read the questions in silence and underline the key words and phrases. Then ask them to find the relevant information in the passage to answer the questions. • Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class. Give explanations for the answers which pupils find difficult. Key: 1 He has it four times a week. 2 He can read Aladdin and the Magic Lamp in English. 3 He practises speaking by talking to his foreign friends. 4 He practises writing by sending emails to his friend Hakim in Malaysia. 5 Because he wants to watch English cartoons on TV.   6. LESSON PLAN 5 Warm up: - Greetings - revising the lesson in Activity 6 by inviting some ss to answer questions A. PRACTICE ACTIVITY 1. Read and listen to the story - Tell the class that they are going to read and listen to the story - look at the pictures and answer questions to remind them of the characters (What's the name of the black-and-white cat? What's the name of the white mouse? Can you see the brown cat and the red cat? Who are they? Do you know the grey mouse? Can you remember his name?) - read the story in silence Work 2 -listen and follow the story - act out the story - say the words in each bubble 2.
