  1. Week 24 Period 24 Tuesday, February 25th 2025 Unit 7: In the garden Lesson 2 A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - say the sound of the letter G/g and the words garden, girl, goat and gate in a chant. - recognize the words in different situations when listening. - trace the letter G/g - Vocabulary: review - Skills: speaking, writing and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Know how to chant exactly. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students,love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Stages/ Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Check-up (7’) *Aims: to help ss remember the words that they have learn in lesson 1. *Procedure: - Ss say the letter and the sound.
  2. - Ask pupils to look at the picture in -Ssopen their book. Lesson 1, point and say the sound of the letter G/g and the words garden, gate, girl, goat. - Get pupils to open the book and look at Lesson 2. 2. Practice (15’) Activity 1. 3. Listen and chant -Ss listen. *Aims: Ss will be able say the sound of the letter G/g and the words garden, gate, girl, and goat in a chant -Ss listen and repeat. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the chant. Say -Ss listen and chant Look at the chant, please! Draw pupils’ attention to the first line and explain its meaning. Ask them to pay attention to the letter G/g and the word goat. Check comprehension. - Play the recording of the first line for pupils to listen and to get familiarized with the tune, saying Listen to the first line, please! Then -Ss listen and chant have them listen again and repeat the sound of the letter g and the word goat individually and in, saying -Ss chant and do action Listen and repeat, please! Follow the same procedure with other lines. Correct pronunciation, if -Ss chant in front of class necessary. Show them how to chant and clap hands. - Play the recording all the way through again for pupils to listen and do choral and individual repetition, saying Listen and repeat, please!
  3. Then play the recording for them to -Look at the picture and listen and repeat until they feel describe. confident, - Put the class into two groups to practise chanting and clapping. Each group should sing one verse of the chant - Encourage some pupils to go to the front of the class to chant and clap their hands. The rest of the class may clap along to the rhythm. -Point and say Activity 2 4. Look and trace: *Aims: Ss will be able to trace the letter G/g (upper case and lower case). -Ss listen *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the letter G -Ss trace the letters (upper case) and g (lower case). - Write the upper case G and the lower case g in broken lines on the board. -Ss show their work. - Check to make sure pupils understand the letters written in solid lines and those in broken lines. - Tell pupils to trace the letter G/g -Ss listen. - Check the results of pupils’ tracing and give feedback. - Ask some pupils to show what they -Ss listen. have done. Praise them if they have done well, saying Well done! or You’ve done a good job! - If there is enough time, write the 4. Homework. letter G/g in broken lines on the board and invite some pupils to trace (5’) them. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson.
