  1. Week 17 Period 17 Tuesday, December 31st 2024 Unit 5: At the fish and chip shop Lesson 3 A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “I like _____.” to talk about someone’s favourite food/drinks. - sing a song with the structure “I like _____. - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love food, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Stages/ Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Sing a song (5’) *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: -Ss listen and answer
  2. - Remind pupils of what they have learnt in Lesson 2, saying Well, in Lesson 2, you have -Ss open their book. learnt to chant with the sound /i/ in the words chicken, chips, fish and milk. And you have listened to tick the correct pictures. - Tell pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3, saying Now open your book on -Look at the picture and listen. Page 25. 2. Practice -Listen and repeat. (27’) Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: -Ss listen and repeat. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentence “I like milk”. -Ss say in front of the class. *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture -Ss listen and repeat and describe it. - Have pupils look at the sentence “I like milk” saying Look at the -Ss listen sentence “I like milk.”, please! - Play the recording several times for pupils to listen and repeat the sentence. - Invite a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence “I like milk” in front of the class. - Play the recording for pupils to listen and repeat. - Play the recording again and let pupils listen and repeat the sentence “I like milk”. - Correct pronunciation to make sure pupils can repeat correctly the sentence. Activity 2 7. Let’s talk:
  3. *Aims: Ss will be able to talk about -Look at the picture and their favourite food/drinks, using “I describe. like _____. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the first picture. Point to the carton of milk and ask them. Follow the same procedure with other pictures in the activity. -Point and say - Ask pupils to use the structure in the bubble “I like _____.” and Picture 1 (milk) to talk about their favourite drink, e.g. I like milk. -Ss listen and repeat - Get them to repeat the sentence several times individually and in -Ss listen and answer chorus. - Follow the same procedure with the other pictures in this activity. Make sure pupils understand the -Work in pairs or in groups. structure “I like ____.” and say it with the right pronunciation and -Ss say in front of the class intonation. - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to practise talking about favourite food/drinks. - Select some pairs of pupils to practise talking about favourite food/drinks in front of the class. Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing -Ss listen and answer *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song, using the structure “I like -Ss listen and sing the first line ________.” *Procedure: -Ss listen, sing the first line
  4. - Have pupils look at the song and ask them to pay attention to the -Ss listen, sing the other lines letter I/i and the word fish. and clap their hands - Play the recording of the first line for pupils to listen and to get -Ss listen and sing all the song familiarized with the tune. -Ss sing in front of the class - Play the recording again, ask pupils to listen and repeat the first line. Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident. - Follow the same procedure with the other lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their hands. - Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the song individually and in chorus. - Select some pupils to the front of the class to sing and clap their hands. - If they sing the song well, praise 3. Homework. them, saying Well done! or Very (3’) good. -Ss listen. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson.
