  1. Week 4: Tuesday, October 1st 2024 Period 4: Unit 2: In the dining room Lesson 1: 1,2 A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - pronounce the sound of the letter C/c in isolation and in the words cake, car, cat and cup correctly - Sound /C,c/ - Vocabulary: cake, car, cat, cup - Skills: speaking and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. Stages/ Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Sing a song (5’) *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: -Ss sing and do action -Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by asking the class to sing the song -SS open their book. in Unit 1, Lesson 3 and clap their hands 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES:
  2. - Have pupils open their books and look at Unit 2, Lesson 1. Activity 1. 1. Listen and 2. Presentation repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to (12’) pronounce the sound of the letter C/c in isolation and in the words -Look at the picture and listen. cake, car, cat and cup correctly *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picture, saying Look at the picture, please! Describe the picture. - Have them listen to the recording and repeat the sound of the letter C/c -Point, listen and repeat. - Have pupils point to the cat -Ss listen and repeat. -SS listen, point and repeat. and/or the word cat, listen to the recording and repeat the word cat -SS say in front of the class. - Follow the same procedure with the cake, car, cup. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. - Get pupils to listen to the recording again, pointing to the letter C/c, the words and the things/pet and repeating until they feel confident. - Invite a few pupils to pronounce -Look at the picture and the sound of the letter C/c and say describe. the words cake, car, cup, cat in front of the class -Point and say Activity 2 2. Activity 3. *Play Pelmanism *Aims: Ss will be able to play the game Pelmanism *Procedure: -Ss listen. - T prepares 4 cards (cake, car, cat, cup) and 4 pictures (cake, car, cat, cup) display on the board. + One with activities in the -Ss listen. present tense. + The other with the same activities in the past tense - T explains the rule of the game + Share Ss into 2 groups + First, one player in each group shuffles the cards and says them face down on the table.
  4. + Each player in turn selects two cads and turn them over. + If the cards show the same activity in the present and past tenses, that player wins the pair and goes on to turn over another pair of cards. + If the cards show different activities, that player should turn them face down again and the next player has a turn. + The game ends when all the cards are gone. + The winner is the player with the most pairs. - T check who’s winner. 4. Homework. - Practice more at home. (2’) - Prepare for the next lesson.
