- Week 29 Period 29 Tuesday, April 1st 2025 REVIEW 2: SELF –CHECK (PART 1, 2, 3) A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: -Phonics: the sound of the letters i, e, g, h -Vocabulary: chips, fish, milk, chicken bell, pen, pencil, red garden, gate, girl, goat hair, hand, head, horse -Structures: I like _____. (talking about hobbies) It’s a red _____. (introducing something) There’s a _____. (introducing something/someone) Touch your _____. (using the imperatives - Skills: reading, writing and listening, speaking 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love story Phil and Sue, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES:
- Stages/ Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Chatting (5’) *Aims: to help ss review some unit that they learnt. *Procedure: - Ss listen -Have pupils look at the story Phil and Sue, listen and repeat the sentences in the bubbles. Say Look at the story, -Ss open the book listen and repeat, please! - Ask them to open their books and look at Self-check, saying Open your books and look at Self-check, please 2. Practice Activity 1. 1. Listen and tick. (27’) *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and tick the correct boxes. -Look at the picture and *Procedure: listen. - Have pupils look at Picture 1, saying Look at Picture 1, please! What can you see? Can you see a goat and a gate? Ask them to say what they can see. E.g. 1a: I can see a goat. Draw pupils’ attention to the boxes next to the letters a and b. Give further support for those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Set a time limit for pupils to swap and check the answers. Correct the answers, if necessary. - Invite some pupils to the front of the class to point to the pictures and say what they have heard *Keys: 1.a 2. a 3. a Activity 2. 2. Listen and circle: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and identify the sounds by circling the letters. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pairs of -Ss look and say. letters. Explain how to do the task, saying Listen to the sound and circle the letters, please! Check -Ss work in pair comprehension. - Ask pupils to work in pairs to point to the letters in each pair and say the -Ss listen and circle sounds, saying Point to the letters and say, please! - Play the recording, ask pupils to -SS check listen (twice) and circle the letters. Say Listen and circle, please! -Ss say in front of class - Ask pupils to swap and check the answers. Play the recording again for them to check, if necessary. Give the correct answers.

Listen and tick or cross: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and put a tick or a cross in the box under each picture *Procedure: - Have pupils look at Picture 1 (saying -Ss look and listen. Look at Picture 1, please!) and say what they can see (saying What can you see? Can you see a bell? A ball? ). Invite some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class, saying Point to the pictures and say, please! E.g. 1: a bell, 2: a fish. - Draw pupils’ attention to the box under Picture 1, saying Can you see a -Ss look and say. box under the picture?. Before playing the recording, say Are you -Ss do the task. ready?.
