- Week 25 Period 25 Tuesday, March 4th 2025 Unit 7: In the garden Lesson 3 A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “There’s a _____.” to introduce something. - sing a song with the structure “There’s a _____ in the garden. - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Stages/ Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Play game: BANG (5’) *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Ss greet - Ask pupils to greet each other. -Ss listen andplay the game
- - If time allows, ask the class to sing -Ss open their book. the chant or to play the game Bang! - Tell pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3. Introduce Lesson 3 2. Practice Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: (27’) *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentence “There is a garden.” *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture of a -Look at the picture and listen. garden and say What is it? It’s a garden. Point to the picture and say There is a garden. Play the recording for pupils to listen. Explain the meaning of the sentence and how it -Listen and repeat. is used. Go around and praise them, if they performed well, saying Well done! Activity 2 7. Let’s talk: *Aims: Ss will be able to introduce -Look at the picture and something, using “There is a describe. _______.” *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the first picture. Say Look at Picture a, please!. Point to the garden and ask them What is this? The pupils may answer. Tell them to introduce a garden.
- - Ask pupils to point to Picture a and say “There is a garden” in chorus. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. - Ask them to look at the pictures to -Point and say identify the other things, saying -Work in pairs or in groups. Look at Pictures b, c, d, please!. -Point and say Then let them point to the pictures and say the words, check -Ss say in front of the class comprehension. - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to point to the pictures and say. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Select some pairs of pupils to practise introducing animal/things to each other in front of the class. Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structure “I have a _____.” *Procedure: - Have pupils read the first verse to get familiarized themselves with the lyrics. Say Now read the first verse, please! Check comprehension. -Ss look and listen. - Play the recording several times for pupils to repeat line after line to make sure that they can sing the -Ss listen and repeat. verse correctly. - Follow the same procedure with -Ss listen and sing. the second verse. Correct pronunciation and the tune, the rhythm and the melody of the song, -Ss sing. if necessary. - Have pupils listen to the whole song, drawing their attention to the pronunciation, the stress and the -Ss sing again
- melody of the song. Say Now listen to the whole song, please! - Let pupils practise singing the -Ss sing in front of the class whole song. Say Now let’s sing, please! Praise them when they perform well, saying Excellent!. - Invite some pupils to sing the song in front of the class. The rest of the class sings along and claps their hands to reinforce the tune, the rhythm and the melody 3. Homework. (3’) - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. -Ss listen.
